Alice Blue brokerage calculator — full charges on an NSE trade
Last updated:
Short answer
Alice Blue charges 2.5% or ₹20 (whichever is lower) per executed order on equity delivery, and 0.05% or ₹20 on intraday, futures and options — for options the 0.05% applies to premium value, so small option orders can cost less than ₹20. Statutory charges — STT, NSE transaction charges, SEBI fees, stamp duty and 18% GST — apply on top, plus roughly ₹17.70 per scrip DP charge on delivery sells. This calculator itemises everything.

Estimate for one NSE round trip (one buy + one sell order). Brokers round each component per order, so contract notes can differ by small amounts. For options, prices are premiums and quantity is lots × lot size.
Alice Blue runs the ₹20-capped playbook with a wrinkle that matters to option traders: brokerage on options is 0.05% of premium value or ₹20, whichever is lower. On a small order — say a lot of far-OTM options worth ₹6,000 in premium — that is ₹3, not ₹20. For traders running many small option legs, that difference compounds across every leg of every structure.

How Alice Blue’s charges work
Delivery brokerage is 2.5% capped at ₹20 — the cap binds above just ₹800 of order value, so almost every delivery order pays ₹20. Intraday, futures and options all use 0.05% capped at ₹20: the cap binds above ₹40,000, which futures orders always exceed but small option-premium orders often do not. The statutory stack is standard NSE: STT, transaction charges, SEBI fee, buy-side stamp duty, 18% GST on the non-tax components, and about ₹17.70 (₹15 + GST) per scrip DP charge on delivery sells.
The percentage-on-premium rule is genuinely unusual. Most discount brokers charge options a flat ₹20 per order regardless of size; Alice Blue’s 0.05% means a ₹10,000-premium order pays ₹5 and a ₹100,000-premium order pays ₹20. Sellers of cheap OTM strikes and buyers of hedging wings — the legs where flat fees bite proportionally hardest — keep the most.
Alice Blue for algo traders
Alice Blue’s ANT API serves systematic traders, and the broker has historically courted the high-frequency retail crowd with its low per-order economics. The honest caveat is the same as everywhere: statutory charges dwarf brokerage differences at scale, and no per-order discount rescues a strategy whose edge is thinner than the STT it pays. Run your typical trade through the calculator and read the breakeven line before assuming frequency is free.
INDfolio AI connects to Alice Blue through the official ANT API and deducts this exact cost stack — including the percentage-based option brokerage — from every simulated trade in a backtest.

Computed by the same engine as the calculator above, so the two always agree. Each trade is bought and sold at the same price, so the total is the pure cost of the round trip and the breakeven is the price move needed just to cover it.

They produce estimates for NSE trades based on published rates and standard formulas — not investment advice, and not a substitute for your broker’s contract note.
